There are certain multidimensional issues of ongoing concern for the reentry population. The Roundtable Planning Council attempts to integrate its work in these key issue areas by establishing formal partnerships with existing committees, work groups, and coalitions that have similar or overlapping goals. This results in more efficient use of existing community resources, less duplication of effort, and promotes opportunities for dialogue and the sharing of accurate data.

There are two current Roundtable work groups:
- The Data & Analysis Work Group focuses on fulfilling the Roundtable’s scope of work with the City of Austin to develop a report on practices and release data for jail and prison facilities that release individuals to the Austin/Travis County area including data analysis and policy and/or services recommendations.
- The Reentry Simulation Work Group is planning for a June 2020 community reentry simulation event focused on helping criminal justice system leaders, area employers, local policymakers and community leaders gain an understanding of the significant obstacles faced by persons upon release from incarceration, and to highlight the role of system coordination and planning to promote successful reentry.
