Christina

I just wanted to give a personal thanks to all of you who care about reentry. I want you toknow that the things you do are appreciated in more ways than words could eversay. I am telling you this because I am an ex-offender and have been blessed byall you do! Your efforts and help have changed my life in many ways, and myfamily and I are forever grateful for this. You have given me the opportunityto be a better mother, daughter, sister, friend and person in general. Yoursupport and resources have paved a better future for not only me personally butfor others who are in need. I know that sometimes you may not know if what youdo is affecting anyone and you may often wonder is it worth it? I am here totell you YES it is worth it. Because of every single thing you do I amable to get up in the morning and look in the mirror and say, I love me becausesomeone else showed me love! Because of you, my children get up in the morningand say, “I love you, Mommy,” and without you all I wouldn’t have this back in mylife! So please, keep doing what you do so others can have this opportunitytoo!

From Christina’s employer…

There is a second piece to her success story.  She is employed full time, and she is anintegral part of our growing business, just as she herself is growing. She ispaying taxes; saving money; and she is giving back to the community(volunteering and reaching out with several organizations). Soon, she will evenbe going back into jails to speak promise and light into others at DelValle.  I just wanted to add these itemsbecause for any naysayer who doubts that solid, well thought out re-entryprograms don’t work,  this is proof thatwhen we commit time, money and resources to helping these men and women, theybecome not just better mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, they become taxpayers, consumers (instead of takers), and great citizens of our community whoGIVE BACK!
