Fair Chance Hiring Employer Panel and Information Session

August 28, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Got Workforce Woes? Learn How Hiring Workers with Conviction Records Can Address Your Talent Shortage!
We know that Austin area employers face difficulty in finding qualified employees. One talent pool that is sometimes overlooked are workers with prior conviction records. An estimated 70 million people in the United States—nearly one in three adults—have a prior arrest or conviction record. Workers with records have been found to be more productive, have less turnover, and promoted faster (National Employment Law Project). There are also financial incentives and tax implications to hiring formerly incarcerated individuals.
If you have interest in learning more about how this population might be able to help you, please join the Austin/Travis County Reentry Roundtable for a brown bag lunch and learn to discuss the benefits of becoming a fair chance employer and to ask the questions you need answered in order to get started.
This meeting is only open to employers and employer association representatives.
Paid parking provided.
Conference Call option also available upon request.
